February MAT 2013 – Preparation

MAT being a knowledge-based test with objective-type test pattern, will examine your general aptitude across varied parameters such as Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Indian & Global Environment etc. Hence, MAT preparation calls for carefully devised strategy, which helps you cover maximum topics and score high to get call from good management institutes across the country.

Well, Certainly no. After having been shortlisted by B school you are invited for GD to assess your communication skills and confidence level. GD panel is searching traits of future manager in you, so here is an opportunity for you to showcase your personality. 

Your overall soft skills like body language, adaptation, team work, leadership, listening power and top of all your positive attitude is on anvil.

Be assured you will be given GD topic from subjects on current affairs or soft social issues so that you get ample chance to speak out. 

Present time is an opportune time to work on GD and practice in small groups, that will yield you success in GD.

Brevity is the essence of WAT

After having scored high in CAT and shortlisted, now you will be tested in WAT which is essentially a test on your communication skills.

Expressing different thoughts but maintaining focus on topic is an art which will be on anvil in your WAT. 

Brevity is the essence to motivate readers so that not only they read till you conclude but they also absorb a message of your conclusion. 

Selection panel is looking forward to points which they might pick up for elaborating them in your personal interview.

Radical thinking or divergent views are acceptable but need to be framed in logical trajectory of topic. 

Simple sentences with conveying message will attempt you to be successful in WAT.

Beyond SNAP 2012 result

MBA aspirants who appeared in SNAP on last December 16, 2012 might have seen their score as this time it is on percentile basis.  

Your analytical skills have been successful hence; you are now selected for second phase of admission process.  

With Essay writing you will be tested for your writing skills and in GD, you will be tested for your communication skills, later if selected in both you will be exposed to selection panel for PI.

Since all above cannot be prepared overnight so it is advised to practice for each of Essay writing, Group discussion and Personal Interview.

Your plan after CAT 2012 result !

CAT 2012 result is out today and it is in news that ten engineers have scored 100 percentile. Wow, good!  

But that is the story for news mongers, you need to focus on your admission rather than who scored what, gender analysis, category analysis etc. 

Those of you who have got high percentile might get call from new IIMs but if you could not get scores as expected, you should not lose heart. You will be getting chance to apply in top non IIM B schools. 

You must take up practice sessions on WAT, Extempore Speech, Essay writing, GD & PI. These tests might look easy to you but sometimes you may get stuck hence, you need enormous practice on variety of subjects on the above to be further successful and achieve mission admission MBA!!
