Why you wish to go for MBA?

Indeed it is million dollar question that why you wish to do MBA? Is it your personal decision? Is it that you are under pressure of your peer group? Is it you thought of MBA because your friends are in MBA? This scenario does have lot of meaning  the context that only if you thought of doing MBA and it is only your inner decision then it is  right decision otherwise  under influence of friends or under peer pressure doing MBA is useless. Because doing MBA requires few other qualities besides studying subject matter for cracking MBA entrance exams.

Even it is your decision, question still remains to be answered that why you wish to do MBA? Is it you thought of that with MBA you will become employable and you might get fat salary? Or you thought of doing MBA to gain management knowledge and become entrepreneur? Or you thought of gaining MBA degree and go for some job abroad? All these questions are valid and answers to all these questions do have immense reasons to have self-belief that after MBA where will be your future or what is that you wish to achieve?

Many focused students do have clarity on their career and they not only do lot of preparation for that but they go for career counselling also. This focused breed of students does have clarified on their strengths and weaknesses but the most important observation from them is that they continue to cement their strengths and keep on removing their minus points. How they do that?  They practice a lot on their weaknesses of individual personality and on subjects of exams and thereafter they discuss for the best of solution with their teachers , mentors and peer group and in their own group which they create of twenties students or so and that give them a big canvas of mixed values , mixed understanding and diversity of careers. That gives then genuine feed back to improve on poor points.

Your attitude to know more on management theory and later how you plan to practice theory matters a lot.  For this matter you plan to do MBA that will be the finest way to go for MBA. It is with this education   you can become entrepreneur and top of all with this education whether MBA degree matters you or not for gaining employment but you become thorough professional or at least you gain professional qualities and that will be everlasting education for you. You are advised to think and plan a lot before you go for MBA and discuss with your peer group as to why you should MBA? But don’t take pressure as that will be termed as bad proposition to do MBA.  Time is ripe to take decision and get cracking for doing MBA.

Preparation on WAT is on-going process

Those MBA aspirants who may find their name in the cut off list of top MBA institutes or even IIMs will have go through Written Ability Test or commonly known as WAT  before you finally face admission team one to one basis. You must be wondering that after so much tough entrance tests , now again you have to go through this test why ? You are right; it is really cumbersome to go for repeat test on language skill. But please note that this test as WAT is basically to understand your flow of thoughts on the given subject and how you show your skills to write two hundred words on the assigned topic with conclusion? The main point is your conclusion because that will motivate your audience to know you more and possibly, you might be put questions from your WAT in personal interview also.

Topics in WAT may vary but mostly with the trend in mind, you will get topics from the areas of socio economic issues, economic issues, sports, general science issues , environment issues. It is basically to know your awareness also beside your written language skills.

Please remember that as would be Brand manager, you are supposed to know the skills of communication in writing format so that you are able to communicate in best of motivating manner to your team as well as customers also. Therefore you are tested for language skills again in WAT but in writing format.

Wring skill is anon-going process and can’t be improved overnight therefore it is a must for you to keep on writing small stanzas on some subject and enjoy writing. The best way to improve would be to write summary of Editorials of national Dailies and then discuss with your peer group. Another area will be to listen news analysis programmes at all India radio then write summaries of these bulletins because with that not only your awareness on surroundings will increase but you will be able to comprehend any news with analytical way and that can be a boon for you in WAT as well as for your personal interview.

With WAT admission selection committee will not only judge your language skills but your personality too and that will be helpful to know you more and will directly impact you during personal interview.

WAT looks so simple on the face of it;anybody can claim of writing the best but remember that you will be competing with equally best of the competitors hence, your writing power has to be a gem and your conclusion on the assigned topic can be game changer in WAT therefore time is ripe to carry on with your practice to achieve mission admission MBA !!!
