General Knowledge in IIFT

General Knowledge is one area of IIFT that worries most aspirants but note  that the GK cut-offs will also be proportionately lower. So, it is not necessary to crack the GK section separately. You just need to attempt sufficient questions to clear the cut-off. Even if you can attempt 14-15 questions with say, 11 correct, you should do well.

Another point, with respect to GK in IIFT, is that the exam has traditionally had a lot of match the column kind of questions. 

This, in a way, is a blessing because each answer option has multiple combinations given e.g. i-a, ii-b, iii-c, iv-d etc. So, even if you don’t know the answer to all 4 combinations, there is always the possibility of knowing 1 or 2 of the combinations and getting the answer using elimination. 

We suggest that you look at the last few IIFT Mock paper to get a feel of these questions.

Success Mantras for PI

It is said that best strategy is the straight thinking process. Likewise you need to realize that Personal Interview must become so personal that admission selection panel must get an impression that here is a person who is speaking from heart and soul. 

Any mantra will be failure if not being practiced from heart. You must ensure that your answers are coming from your mind and you must not be hyperbole on any answer which you might respond out of blue.

If you are not aware of any question then it is much better to say that you are not aware of or you have yet to understand the domain.

Responding with enthusiasm is always better because that reflects the positivity and confidence within you.

Positive attitude is the only Mantra not only to cover up the entire above but to be successful and achieve mission at PI.

What is judged at PI ?

After having succeeded in WAT / Essay Writing / Extempore Speech / GD, now you will be grilled in Personal Interview and most of the questions will be picked up by the selection panel from your performance of the above.

Personal Interview is always one to one and that reflects that being a last leg of MBA admission procedure, you are being asked comfortable questions to judge your positivity with your responses which you might give either orally or with your body language.

You are being watched while you walk or your sit down or when you express your gestures while giving your answers.

Be careful but confident because your simple answers in straight forward manner will positively get you success at PI.

PI is very crucial and critical

MBA aspirants who have cracked MBA entrance test like CAT, IIFT, XAT, SNAP, CMAT, MAT, NMAT etc. will have to go to the last stage of MBA admission of Personal Interview.

PI is very critical and highly crucial as failure over here means complete loss of opportunity.

Once you are successful at PI and have impressed admission selection panel then you are through to your mission and likely to be given final selection letter in any of the top B-School.

Need not be surprised if you are anxious at PI then selection panel is equally anxious to receive and judge you on the parameter of communication, body language, positivity, presence of mind, previous academic record and work experience if any.

GD is not shouting

Over a period of time MBA aspirants have been under the impression that during GD leadership qualities are being judged by admission selection panel.

Of course you will be judged on the above quality but you will equally judged on your communication power and toleration power. 

GD is not a platform for shouting or raising voice because this will lead you to a negativity and you might go out of focus from subject which must have assigned to you.

Better would be to suave and decent to your fellow GD participants, understand their point of view and even if you have to rebut any of their point, be humble and take permission to counter the point and give your own view to lead and give direction to the entire GD.
