CAT 2012: Get, Set & Go

What a caution line for athletes to race for winning in sports meets. A bit of understanding each word would be worthwhile for self introspection and to feel rejuvenated.

‘Get’ denotes to understand the rules of game. ‘Set’ is to plan for the game and mould yourself for the game and competition.  ‘Go’ is final word to run now and compete finally.CAT aspirants must take cue form athletes who plan, practice then execute to be winner. 

Understanding exam procedure and it’s all sections viz; VA,DI,QA & LR will set an agenda. Having set the goal and path for execution, practice sessions will help to analyze the pluses and minuses for perfection.

Like athletes practice with stop watch to keep up timings and do better than gold medalist, CAT aspirants equally need to practice and zero tolerance approach which  has to be implemented and maintained to score high every  time in mock tests.

Athletes participate in pre tournament meets to test water and find shortcomings besides to boost self confidence. Same way CAT 2012 aspirants must take up multiple mock tests and September MAT to understand the level of achievement.

Days are numbered for athletes to compete in forthcoming July 2012 London Olympics and same way time is very less for CAT 2012 also so get ready, set and go for achieving mission CAT 2012.

CAT: So tough to crack?

All historical monuments, scientific inventions, development of technology, development of medical science etc. took human being years of time and highly focused efforts to achieve beyond his capacity.

‘Tough’ as word reflects the conditioning of mind. Taking leap at pole vault looks tough but athlete enjoys and crosses the bar in ascending order to win medal at Olympics.

‘Tough’ also reflects fear of failure. At operation table patient fears but surgeon smiles and declares operation as successful because of the fact that doctor has already overcome fear with knowledge and practice and self confidence has been achieved.

Indeed ‘tough’ reflects opportunity for those who will dare to take on firm stand to win over tough in any form.

CAT is also not tough as it is achievable and every year this is proved by aspirants that those with great perseverance and obsession have achieved success.

Date for CAT 2012 is approaching fast and focused students are ready for the show.

CAT 2012: DI

Perception that DI is the toughest among all sections of CAT is not unfounded. Indeed this tough section needs to be handled with care. This section can prove to be maze and for few a trump card to score high percentile.

DI is a test on interpretation. Think and act smartly is the mantra for DI which is highly scoring section of CAT.

Preparation on DI demands smart and out of box thinking supplemented with speed which is very crucial.

Questions which are consuming time must be taken up last is general rule but coming back  and trying again is tough and challenging so DI is also a test for that.

Identifying questions and decoding information in DI is like half battle won so be ready and achieve mission CAT 2012.

CAT 2012: Aspirant’s Only Goal

Mythological stories tell us that with complete focus on aiming at eye of fish Arjuna shot arrow with perfection. Ekalavya learnt archery with great focus of listening and observation only.  Lesson from stories is that with single minded focus, impossible can be achieved.

In daily life we observe that people without vision are fast learner than others who are with vision because of the sheer fact that they focus on listening and touch & feel a lot.

CAT 2012 can be competed and cracked with single aim to be winner provided honest preparatory actions are being taken based on repeated SWOT for each section of exam i.e. VA, LR, DI and QA.

Impeccable planning and methodical execution will lead to achieve Goal CAT 2012.

VA Preparation for CAT 2012

Reading habit leads you to thinking and analyze.  Browsing through a news paper is not enough, reading editorials will lead to different perspective.

Verbal Ability is a test for comprehension of understanding for whatever being read.  RC, Para Jumbles, Para Completion and sentence completion are basics of VA section in CAT.

Grammar has to be reworked. More than meaning of words usage in sentence is more important. Writing paragraphs on variety of topics will help to build tempo and conversation among groups will help to build vocabulary.

Assuming and presuming on a particular premise mentioned in stanza might lead you to right inference.

Reading with critical thinking and reasoning can be the best approach to score high in VA section of CAT 2012.

Diversification learning will help CAT 2012 preparation

To neutralize monotonous repetition of practice sessions for all four sections, it will be worthwhile to think beyond text books.  

Why Petrol pricing can’t be lowered?  Whether GDP can be alone economic parameter to quantify growth?  Negligible agricultural growth will lead us to PL 480 era? Coalition Political imbroglio can lead us to Presidential form of government?   Are we so habitual and tolerant of corruption? When we will give patents to world?  Our higher education will not produce researchers? We will continue to go to Olympics for participation and not for aiming medals?  These are few among many topics which can be thought over and analyzed. It gives ecstasy and sense of achievement which will prove to be synergistic for CAT 2012 preparation.

Of course there won’t be questions on general awareness but after having received valid scores other tests like Extempore, WAT, GD & PI will be testing your skills on over all inherent quality of becoming professional.

Besides routine habit of reading news papers, magazines, watching and listening news features on TV and radio, it is thinking power beyond run of mill ideas and venturing to out of box solutions will diversify reasoning to help think beyond dead wall. Synergy of creative ideas with core study will help in CAT 2012 preparation.
