Format of CMAT First Test 2014 - 2015



MBA aspirants, who are taking CMAT from 26-30 September, 2013 may note the format of exam. 

CMAT will be a computer-based test (CBT). A candidate will read the questions on a computer terminal and choose an answer by clicking on the correct option.

The format of the test is more or less the same except that a candidate reads a question on a computer terminal and clicks on the correct answer, instead of reading on a paper booklet and using a pencil to darken the ovals on an answer sheet.

You can’t take the test from any computer and a candidate will have to test on a pre-assigned workstation and will not have a choice to choose his or her workstation, in the testing venue.

First let's understand MAT eligibility :

The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent.

A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com, B.Tech., etc.) can also apply.

Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation which is different for different management institutes and universities.

However, there is no restriction regarding percentages for taking the MAT test, no age bar and no experience required.

MAT scores are valid for one year for most management institutes. It help students in getting admissions in various management programs such as Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Insurance Management, HR, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and International Business, Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management (PGDITM) in IT Marketing, E-Commerce, Information Systems Management etc.

September MAT 2013 will be Paper Based Test and will be conducted by AIMA on 1st September 2013 (Sunday) with time from 10.00am to 12.30pm.

Admission Process through CMAT (First Test)



MBA Aspirants who are taking CMAT First test from 26tth September to 30th September 2013 must note the admission process.

The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective State Government for allotting the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure.

In case there is no central counseling, scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved institutes/University departments.

Expected Duration of the CMAT First test will be 3 hours (180 minutes).Expected Time per section in CMAT is 45 minutes. Marking Scheme for CMAT will be 4 marks per correct answer and incorrect answers will carry a penalty of 1 mark.

Eligibility Criteria for NMAT 2014



MBA aspirants who are taking NMAT 2014 may note the eligibility criterion that Full Time Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from UGC recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in first attempt.

The candidate must have completed graduation in the stipulated duration as per the respective University/Institution awarding the degree. Those candidates who have cleared their graduation by doing a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply. Further Valid GMAT score of 600 and above (GMAT score for last 3 years up to 20th October, 2013 will be considered) for the international candidates.

Admission is subject to getting clearance for the candidate's Government (if required) and a student visa from the Indian Embassy in your country. For all the Full Time programs candidates with two years and more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred.

CMAT First test (2014 -15): Important Dates



MBA aspirants must note that registration window for CMAT 2014-15 (First Test) has opened from today that is July 3 with last date August 21, 2013

With CMAT score you will be eligible to join AICTE approved B schools. After exam central Counseling will be done or may be as per state government notifications for universities

  • Print out of Score Cards From 20.10.2013 to 20.11.2013
  • Online from July 3, 2013 to August 21, 2013 on website www.aicte-cmat.in
  • Selection up-to 3 cities giving order of preference.
  • First come first served; actual allotment subject to availability of the slots in a particular city
