CMAT EXAM 2021 – Attempts, Difficulty level comparison, Syllabus, Preparation and CMAT vs CAT

1.       CMAT 2021 exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and the exam will be conducted only once a year.

2.       The difficulty is quite subjective. But if you compare CMAT with other exams like CAT, XAT or even SNAP, it is moderately easy with a few tricky questions here and there. Overall the standard of the paper is set keeping in mind an average student who may be scoring 50% or above score during his/her graduation.

3.       The syllabus for CMAT is not defined but you can get an idea by going through the mock test released on the Official CMAT Website. In the CMAT Exam Pattern and Syllabus, there are 4 sections.
·         The QTDI section is designed to test the candidate on the following areas-
Ø  Basic Math skills
Ø  Numerical skills
Ø  Mental Math skills
Ø  Problem Solving skills
Ø  Statistical skills

·         The LR section tests the candidates on the following areas:
Ø  Critical reasoning
Ø  Analytical abilities
Ø  Logical abilities
Ø  Visual reasoning
Ø  Non verbal reasoning

·         The LC section tests the candidates on the following areas:
Ø  English language
Ø  Reading Comprehension

·         The GA section tests the candidates on the following areas:
Ø  Current Affairs
Ø  Static Affairs

4.       The CMAT 2021 exam is a national level entrance examination conducted. It will be conducted by National Testing Academy (NTA). Until now it was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The CMAT results will be accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
There is no defined syllabus for the CMAT 2021 and the difficulty level of the questions is between low to moderate. Hence, no candidates in CMAT 2020 are disqualified even if their CMAT 2020 result score is not very high. So preparing for CMAT should be easy. You can club it while preparing for exams like SNAP, NMAT and IBSAT.
The Mock test for CMAT will be released sometime in Oct. This will give you a fair idea of what kind of paper you can expect.

5.       CAT and CMAT exams usually the first and last exams that students write in the year. The syllabus for both is quite similar for CAT and CMAT with one major difference-
·         CAT 2021 Exam Sections: Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension, DILR, and QA
·         CMAT Syllabus 2021: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness.
·         Most of the prep for both the exams can overlap. However, you need to put extra effort for GK section.
