You can’t afford slang in GD

Sometimes MBA aspirants become informal during Group discussion because when they are given a relaxed GD platform they get mistaken and might use slang language during GD which can be injurious. 

Never forget that you are being watched carefully by GD panel and once they observe your language, you might face rejection. Only reason as to why formal language is expected is that you are supposed to have business like manners and communication is essential part of this aspect. 

Good communication is that which is received and perceived by your audience in such a manner as you thought of communicating. In GD it is vital as group will react to your communication and give back to you your own thoughts which you can develop and give conclusion. This can be a golden opportunity to take lead in GD. 

That is the prowess of communication so shed slang forthwith.

Body language is everything in PI

Personal Interview or PI is last step before you are declared to be selected in a B school hence; PI is very important stage of MBA admission process. 

Selection panel has already seen your performance in admission test and later in WAT / Essay / Extempore Speech etc. Finally you are being exposed to selection panel who wishes you to respond with your best presentation. 

Selection board is looking forward to the best candidate who dreams for future with most achievable aspirations and has doable ideas. Positive approach with equally fresh ideas and simple body language will be call for the day.

Essay is not a narration

MBA aspirants will be given Essay to write in a stipulated time. Not only you have to maintain time management but since you are competing hence, you have to be the best. 

Post MBA exams you will be tested in Essay for your creative writing, expression of thoughts and may be handwriting. You need to remember that body copy of Essay must not be narrative, you need to avoid the story but yes you can write anything which is substantiating the thought process on topic. 

If Opening paragraph is vital then middle of Essay is very crucial as reader of your Essay will have to be motivated with your writing to take the thinking process further with same line of thinking and reach to some logical conclusion. 

It is suggested to write Essays in lucid manner as third party with a logical conclusion.

Don’t be so polite in GD

If it was said earlier that you need to raise your voice to be heard in Group discussion but then all started complaining and termed it as shouting. 

Over a period of time MBA aspirants have understood the trick and now most of participants in GD speak at their turn and normal logical voice.

It is advisable not to be so polite that others can’t hear you or if you wish to emphasize on some point then it must be put forward emphatically.

Idea is to communicate which others take it and counter so that you take lead and you get golden opportunity to become leader in GD.  

Onus will be on you to take the idea further and develop up to some logical conclusion while cautiously focusing on topic of Group Discussion.

Be ready for Essay in XAT 2013

MBA aspirants who are taking XAT on forthcoming January 6, 2013 should be ready for Essay as you might be given topic of current affairs which you will have to complete in 15-20 minutes of time. 

Possibility is high that you need to write an argumentative essay. You need to be careful for not offering comments. Let us take example that is, if the topic is on corruption so you need not mention comments of social media or the crusade being run by civil societies. You need to be focused on topic only with conclusion on pros & cons of scenario.
