Divergent thinking must be managed in GD

Let it be clear to MBA aspirants that group discussion is also a test to understand your soft skills on listening to co -group members and elaborating on those points which are helping group to come up with logical conclusion based on the theme of assigned topic.

On the premise of judging your interpersonal skills, leadership skills you will be watched by selection panel for your positivity and managing even divergent views.

Your discussing the topic in negative perspective is not an issue but presentation need to be at best to convey the reasoning and that matters in GD.

Unwritten code of conduct in GD

MBA aspirants will soon be exposed to Group Discussion wherein you will be tested on your soft skills of coordination, leadership, communication, team work  and attitudinal skills.

In absence of any written rules for GD you need to develop those traits of personality which are either being watched or expected. Selection panel will be keeping hawk eye to observe you keenly.

Be candid in your overall approach, be clear on your stance, be persuasive, be polite, be courteous, be cooperative and take lead on getting chance. GD is not argument but a discussion on agreeing and not agreeing.

Ideally you need to open up with new idea or additional submission so that others can take up your point for further discussion.

February 2013 CMAT is last opportunity

MBA aspirants who are aspiring to be selected in B school must note that coming CMAT in this month is the last opportunity for you for the admission cycle of 2013 -15.   Since scores of CMAT will be accepted by all AICTE approves B schools, you will be getting huge opportunity to be considered by all institutes.

Sections of quantitative techniques and General Knowledge can be tricky. Both these sections can’t be improved overnight hence it essential for you to take on CMAT Mock tests.

CMAT is not that difficult if you plan and execute properly you can score. All those shortlisted aspirants will be called for GD and PI.  CMAT result will be out in third week of March.

Remain formal with selection panel in PI

MBA aspirants will soon be facing Personal Interview after having been selected in WAT / Essay / Extempore Speech / GD. Most of the time you will be greeted with informal way by selection panel so that you remain at ease to give your best.

PI is essentially a one to one chat wherein you are expected to come up and showcase your inner personality to the panel. In the process some of you might get swayed with informal chat and mistake can be committed to become a little friendly and that may be some times suicidal hence, you should remain formal with selection panel in PI.

It is advised to practice in front of mirror and speak with yourself that will give you confident to be successful in PI.
