Professional conduct is an asset of Manager

We all wonder what professional conduct is and how it differs from personal conduct.

History shows that where ethics and economics come in conflict, victory is always with economics. Vested interests have never been known to have willingly divested themselves unless there was sufficient force to compel them.

Ethics is in origin the art of recommending to others the sacrifices required for cooperation with oneself.

Those of us who believe in God and derive our sense of right and wrong and ethics from God's Word really have no difficulty whatsoever defining where our ethics come from.

People who believe in survival of the fittest might have more difficulty deriving where their ethics come from. A lot of evolutionists are very ethical people.

Management ethos motivates us to think positive and in most ethical manner which is good for brand, company, consumer and for manager.

MBA institutes are giving emphasis on professional conduct, so that MBA pass outs must perform in companies where they will ultimately placed.

MBA still holds good!

Since couple of years MBA has taken a beating in market hence, fresh graduates are a bit confused whether MBA will help them for getting job?

Indeed the fact is that at present until you are having employability skills, you are not employable. Companies are demanding that MBA pass outs must be able to deliver on minimum certain aspects of communication, attitude, adaptability, confidence and willing to learn.

Naturally with above facts and with demand and supply trends MBA is looking to be on hold with some fresh graduates but on the other hand few students are realizing that it is only MBA as PG program will help them to gain a professional degree or diploma with which they will be in demand not only in India but Globally.

Degree Collegiate have top of mind aspiration to go for job immediately after final exam and nothing wrong with it but it is equally important to enhance knowledge base and MBA can be done along with work.

Competency prevails always

Teaching is the only major occupation of man for which we have not yet developed tools that make an average person capable of competence and performance. In teaching we rely on the 'naturals,' the ones who somehow know how to teach.

Ordinary men wonder why those of only average intelligence so often rise to the highest levels of power, while highly intelligent people generally do not.

They fail to understand that reaching the highest levels of power has nothing to do with admired attributes such as intelligence and competence.

The predominant characteristic of those who rise to the highest levels of power is a total disregard for the consequences – including death – that will befall thousands or hundreds of thousands, or millions of human beings if it is deemed necessary to attain his / her goals.

Generally speaking, it is this total disregard for humanity that has distinguished ‘rulers’ throughout history.

But to achieve professional competency you will have to sincerely take steps and one of the top priority is to declare zero tolerance for incompetency, lethargy and procrastination.

Let’s clear our mind blocks

Over a period of time we all make a mental set which is a natural phenomenon but problem arises when we analyze that whether mind set is positive or negative.

Mind set when not analyzed or rectified perpetuates in to mental blocks which is many a times injurious.

Mind set on the other hand is useful like turning professional is a mindset. If we are struggling with fear, self-sabotage, procrastination, self-doubt, etc., the problem is, we're thinking like amateurs. Amateurs don't show up. Amateurs crap out. Amateurs let adversity defeat them. The professional thinks differently. He shows up, he does his work; he keeps on trying, no matter what.

The more mental blocks are broken and positivity creeps in, the better and positive mind set will win you success in all spheres’ of life.

To sum up the mental blocks, it is well said that “a stepping-stone can be a stumbling block if we can't see it until after we have tripped over it”

Goal clarity is a must for you!

Feeling compassion for ourselves in no way releases us from responsibility for our actions. Rather, it releases us from the self-hatred that prevents us from responding to our life with clarity and balance.

People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. Let’s learn this at a professional level when trying to get our high-performance; the longer lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track we got. Clarity comes with simplicity.

Our mind, while blessed with permanent memory, is cursed with lousy recall. Written goals provide clarity. By documenting our dreams, we must think about the process of achieving them.

All of us who are MBA aspirants must have goal clarity thru and thru and let’s write our goal and hang it on a wall like Picasso painting with great hope of achieving our mission of admission in MBA!
