Don’t be so polite in GD

If it was said earlier that you need to raise your voice to be heard in Group discussion but then all started complaining and termed it as shouting. 

Over a period of time MBA aspirants have understood the trick and now most of participants in GD speak at their turn and normal logical voice.

It is advisable not to be so polite that others can’t hear you or if you wish to emphasize on some point then it must be put forward emphatically.

Idea is to communicate which others take it and counter so that you take lead and you get golden opportunity to become leader in GD.  

Onus will be on you to take the idea further and develop up to some logical conclusion while cautiously focusing on topic of Group Discussion.

Be ready for Essay in XAT 2013

MBA aspirants who are taking XAT on forthcoming January 6, 2013 should be ready for Essay as you might be given topic of current affairs which you will have to complete in 15-20 minutes of time. 

Possibility is high that you need to write an argumentative essay. You need to be careful for not offering comments. Let us take example that is, if the topic is on corruption so you need not mention comments of social media or the crusade being run by civil societies. You need to be focused on topic only with conclusion on pros & cons of scenario.

Essay is not just writing

MBA aspirants need to be ready for Essay writing test post MBA exams results.  It is advisable to understand the reason for this test. 

In exam you have already been tested for your analytical skills but that is still not enough because a would be manager is expected to have more skills so with Essay writing you will now be tested in areas of communication, creative writing, handwriting, expression of thoughts and top of all how do you conclude so that reader of your Essay must get some take away as message. 

Topic of Essay might be given from current affairs so that your general awareness can also be tested. Speed and writing in a stipulated time is also a test for your time management and domain knowledge. It is said that Essay writing is a reflection of your personality so advisable to be clear whatever is being written as chances are high that you will be asked questions in PI based on your Essay.

MBA admission is not an assurance for Job!

Few of MBA aspirants are having pre conceived notion that once they are selected and admitted in a B school, they are bound to get placed in a good company as this was complemented by the record of placement cell of institution.

This thinking has become a passé and now companies are expecting much more than just a degree or diploma. 

MBA pass outs are expected to be master of communication, should have adaptability skills, must have positive and can do attitude besides raring to go to kill competition. 

You just can’t take it granted that you will be placed without having employable skills and it is you only who have to toil hard to attain those skills which might make you employ worthy.

Analytical and Numerical Ability in TISSNET

MBA aspirants who are taking TISSNET can expect a small number of very basic visual reasoning and inferential questions in this section. 

Also there may be a set or two consisting of basic DI questions which you need to answer on the basis of a graph or a pie chart. 

The remaining questions are quantitative ability questions not very different to those in the other exams. 

The subjects covered in the last year’s exam include time and work, quadrilaterals, numbers, averages, profit and loss, mathematical series, etc. 

You should be able to solve this section fairly quickly as all you need is a grasp on the fundamentals. This section had 15 questions last year.

No harm to prepare from CAT Mock Tests and be successful in TISSNET which is being conducted on coming January 13, 2013.
