I can’t compete CAT

Both Superiority and Inferiority complexes are bad. Having Complexes indirectly reflects attitudinal problems.  Nothing is so big that can’t be achieved and nothing is so small which can be left.

Difference between successful and unsuccessful is that successful people worked on their failures whereas others have left attempts.  Having perseverance is another big quality of successful people.

CAT looks very tough because of fierce competition for lesser seats at IIMs. Accuracy, Time & speed are the base to remove fear psychosis for attempting CAT.

Aerodynamically honey bee can’t fly but due to repeated attempts again and again she flies. 

Practice and practice is the only panacea to crack CAT. If preparation is being done with focused aim then achieving mission may not be difficult.

Doing SWOT for each hurdle changes attitude and failures can be managed and converted to successes. 

Positive approach with obsession of achieving goal to succeed in CAT must change the inner belief that I can compete for CAT.

GK is not a section but boosts your confidence to crack CAT 2012

CAT aspirants passionately prepare for four sections but another hidden part of General awareness or GK sometimes is given back seat. 

Definitely GK is not a section in CAT but with reading newspapers and listing to news feature programs on radio of evening news at AIR and watching business channels will help to understand economic matters, political scenario, sports updates, national and international issues. 

With General Awareness you gain a positive momentum and energy which proves to be motivational and your confidence level remains high.

GK can’t be mugged up or practiced but it has to be a natural way of daily routine to be well versed with current affairs. It’s a reading habit of books beyond text books as that will yield you good results. 

After having written CAT there will be  very important and crucial tests still left over wherein General Awareness is much more required when you go for extempore speech, written ability test and finally for GD & PI. 

GK is a base to crack CAT 2012 without syllabus.

I wish to join IIM only

Day dreaming is not a crime today.  It is only when you dream high you meet obstacles which need to be crossed.  Like many aspirants I too wish to join IIM only.

Having gathered information that thirteen IIMs will be opening admissions in coming October 2012, I feel enthusiastic to take CAT exam which is prerequisite for admission to IIM. 

IIMs are the most prestigious Management Institutes in India and are imparting education on Management theory and its practices.  Contextual teaching with great infrastructure, accessibility to learning resource centers all time during the year, case studies, aura of professionalism and top of all guest lecturers from top honchos of the Industry makes IIMs enviable Institutes.

With admission in any of IIMs, it is ensured and expected that  discipline, Management Jurisprudence, presentation and communication skills, Interpersonal skills, management of time,  management of stress, management of failures and confidence level to take decisions at crucial junctures must have been learnt and all must have become DNA of  a future manager. 

With a goal to accomplish my dream I have started preparation for CAT 2012.

CAT 2012: Preparing to achieve Mission

Impeccable execution of even poor planning sometimes yields excellent results. Off course without saying that planning needs to be reworked on failures. 

To achieve differently in this era of competition requires meticulous planning for CAT aspirants. One needs to be obsessed with goal of achieving mission.

Time bound preparation to weed out failures and thereby corrections would be helpful. Speed with logical analytical thinking process can help to take decision on opting out of confusing questions to minimize negative marking in CAT 2012.

 

Historically none of the mission has been achieved without taking pains of perseverance which starts after you feel exhausted having put up hard work.

Why WAT or Written Ability Test in IIMs?

In all businesses, writing proposals is the key to market the brand. The way proposal is written that reflects the mind set of writer and command on communication. Customer loves to be told about USPs of brand directly in simple terms that too in a précised way. 

Reasons are similar to judge the writing power of future manager so that it can be judged whether aspirant is capable of expressing thoughts in sentences which can be understood the same way as per the assigned topic.

WAT is a test which you would be competing after CAT 2012 written exam in new IIMs. Writing skills, flair for writing, hand writing, expressions as per likes of audience, domain knowledge, maintaining interest and curiosity are key factors in WAT.

WAT is being conducted in new IIMs instead of GD so it is very crucial to understand that with this test thoughtful expressions based on facts will be tested logically. 

Good hard work on practice with ‘out of box topics’ will lead you to think and express in your writing to succeed in WAT.

Why Extempore Speech at IIMs?

Over a period of time MBA aspirants developed a trend of speaking loudly on the premise that they have to exhibit leadership quality at GD which is being conducted at many B schools. 

New IIMs found that undoubtedly leadership skill set has to be judged for aspirants but since with almost GD group is shouting, it would be difficult to scale the points with that minimum error and injustice might happen to few aspirants.

Another aspect is that students who come from humble background, sometime they are not able to match with those who have had better exposure because of family background so disparity needs to be removed or better option have to be scouted. 

Extempore speech is found to be a better tool to understand inside story of being professional, communication command, domain knowledge, skill set of understanding audience, non verbal communication. However conducting GD is not undermined as that also has its own pluses.

Impromptu or extempore speaking within a limited time frame on assigned topic is itself a challenge which must be won by students. A bit of practice supplemented with reading news papers, attaining latest general awareness, enriching vocabulary, quotes of great people will help to bond audience of speech.

No matter what may be the topic, Extempore Speech is basic test of confidence and speaking out from heart while maintaining eye to eye contact with all as audience loves it!
