Benjamin
Disraeli, a former British Prime Minister, is known for his saying, “Success is
the child of audacity”. It is true that success belongs to those who dare to
think outside the box. Only those who dare to fail can achieve success in life.
To do great tasks that are considered impossible by many requires determination
and persistence.
The
Wright brothers, who invented the airplane, were successful because they dared
to think differently from people around them. Invention comes with a price of
immense hard work, possibility of failure, and lack of support from people
around.
Although
the Wright brothers were sometimes ridiculed by the public, they did not lose
focus of their goal. Invention requires trial and error experimentation, and
there were many times that the Wright brothers failed in their tasks. But they
did not get discouraged; they were determined to reach their goals that they
continued to make improvements on their prototype by learning from their
mistakes.
Invention
is never easy and it is common to make mistakes along the way. However, it is
important not to lose confidence and faith in oneself when things are not
proceeding well. People who are daring are persistent in what they do. That’s
why they never fail and success eventually comes to them. Those who are
determined to reach their goals have confidence in their abilities.
Hence,
they are unperturbed by the jeers and discouraging comments of people around
them. We remember great people today because of their determination. Daring
people like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose and Sardar Vallabai Patel are
remembered by billions today because they were undaunted by challenging goals.
