CMAT Exam Notification 2018-19 by MBA Rendezvous

MBA aspirants who are aspiring to appear in CMAT exam should note that CMAT notification has come out and CMAT exam will be conducted by National Testing Agency on 28th January, 2019 whereas registration date will be ending on 30th November, 2018 hence, aspirants need to hurry up now.
CMAT 2019 will be conducted in two shifts that is First Shift 09:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Second Shift 02:30 p.m. to 05:30 p.m.And you can opt for any of the shift. CMAT exam will be computer based test.

If you are having bachelor’s degree in any of the discipline but on the pattern of 10 +2+3 , you are eligible for coming CMAT. Even those who are appearing in final year are also are eligible but you have to give proof of your eligibility period set by institute.  The student should be citizen of India and there is no age bar to appear in CMAT.

CMAT pattern will be of four sections namely Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.  Each of these sections will comprise of 25 questions.  Marks allotted to each section will be 100 that mean each question will be of 4 marks and for any wrong answer 1 mark will deducted thus negative marking makes CMAT tougher than perceived.
General Awareness section in CMAT exam will be crucial because this section is extra as compared to other MBA entrance exams. There fore in this GK section, you might be asked questions in areas of sports, economy, current affairs which are happening in India but Global also. Thus it is important for you to remain updated through newspapers and latest news.

Language comprehension section needs to be tackled more properly because RC in this section can be differentiator. In absence of vocabulary, you might get in to trouble to answer the questions.

Data Interpretation will be different than predicted in the context that you might get more of pie charts and table to interpret data to give the right answers therefore better be prepared to analyze the data before you answer.

It is noteworthy that after CMAT is over then conducting agency NTA will air the answers of CMAT exam on its website and students can challenge the answers after paying a nominal fee of Rs. 1000 however final decision of correct answer will remain with CMAT conducting authorities. Those MBA aspirants who may find their name in the cut off list of top MBA institutes or even IIMs will have go through Written Ability Test or commonly known as WAT  before you finally face admission team one to one basis. You must be wondering that after so much tough entrance tests , now again you have to go through this test why ? You are right; it is really cumbersome to go for repeat test on language skill. But please note that this test as WAT is basically to understand your flow of thoughts on the given subject and how you show your skills to write two hundred words on the assigned topic with conclusion? Tips to Consider While Preparing for Entrance Exams



  1. Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses



Every student should know his strengths and weaknesses before starting the preparation. As it is difficult to excel in all topics, there are topics in which each individual feels confident about. Students should try to cover up topics they feel confident about first, as it boosts their confidence.

 2.Refer fewer books for theory


As students have a habit to refer multiple books for theory, it harms them more than benefiting them. Every book explains topics differently so students get confused among various descriptions styles. Students should try to follow 1 or 2 at most, books from good authors.

3.Create a practical study plan


Students tend to plan more and execute less. Competitive exams like CAT, MAT, CMAT etc can be really challenging if not prepared with a practical stratergy. Create a practical study plan. Know how much syllabus you can cover in a day. Give more time to topics you find difficult and keep some buffer time as well.

 4.Previous year questions are the key


For the last month students should focus on solving the previous year questions.
